CitizenRacecar is an industry-leading company that provides non-profit organizations, government agencies, and forward-looking companies around the country with production of emotionally engaging audio. In our unique education program, Afterschool Podcasting (https://www.citizenracecar.com/afterschool-podcasting), we’re teaching 4th- through 12th-grade students the fundamentals of audio storytelling and empowering them to create their own podcast series.
As a part of this program’s expansion into Southern California, we are seeking part-time, temporary Producer/Educators to teach our curriculum to students in afternoon programs in the North County region of San Diego.
Duties include:
- Training on our curriculum and philosophy
- Traveling to the afterschool site to lead one-hour class sessions
- Inspiring kids with the possibilities of audio storytelling
- Training and supporting their use of recording equipment and text-to-audio editing software
- Processing and story-editing recorded files before handing off to our post-production team for polishing and publication
- Regular administrative meetings
Three-month contract, January to March 2026, with possible renewal for future terms. $30/hour, approximately 5-15 hours per week. On-clock hours include training, travel, prep, teaching, file processing, and editing.
Must have both audio production and storytelling experience and experience working with children. Must be either a US citizen or a resident with green card and social security number. Must be based within an easy commute to the North County region of San Diego County, and have a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record. Must pass a criminal background check and health screening.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred.
