Rhea Seehorn, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Little, Timm Sharp, Jon Hamm, John Waters appear in StanLand, a Satirical Fantasy Podcast About Capitalism Run Amok
TORONTO / LOS ANGELES | July 29, 2025 – If you like Better Call Saul, SNL, and screaming into the void about late-stage capitalism, meet your new favorite podcast. StanLand premieres July 29 with a killer cast and a magical world in decline.
Created by humorist Mike Sacks (Vanity Fair, Poking a Dead Frog) and co-written with The New York Times writer S.G. Wilson, StanLand is a fully sound-designed satire set in the magical land of Zyngia, a fantasy realm slowly being destroyed by corporate creep and dollar-store dystopia. Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) stars as Melanie Hughes, a cynical podcaster reluctantly drawn into an epic quest alongside Bobby Moynihan (SNL), who plays the titular Stan: a delusional Maryland ne’er-do-well with a heart of gold.
The cast also includes Steve Little (Eastbound & Down, Adventure Time), Timm Sharp (Enlightened, Megan 2.0), and features Lauren Adams, Jon Hamm, Mark Proksch, and John Waters, in a cast that feels like someone mashed up your favorite cult comedies and dropped them in a fantasy realm.
StanLand is produced by The Sonar Network, the Toronto-based podcast network known for championing indie comedy and creative audio. The show was made by a small, passionate team working across Canada and the U.S., and was recorded in Los Angeles at the offices of Odenkirk Provissiero during a whirlwind week in November 2024, just days before the most recent U.S. election. Because nothing screams “escape to fantasy” like a real-world hellscape. 😉
The series is already drawing buzz, having been named an Official Selection at the 2025 Tribeca Festival in the Audio Storytelling category.
