The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly organised, research-driven, detail-oriented individual to join our Senior Guest Strategist. This role will take a 360-degree approach to the production of finding, researching and pitching guests as well as being the driving force developing new format ideas and pushing the boundaries of podcasting. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational and communication skills, the highest attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding data-led research on YouTube and other platforms. You will always go the extra mile and will thrive in working non-typical hours to deliver the best possible outcomes in our work.
Key Responsibilities:
Researching for Guests
● Monitor YouTube, social media platforms, and cultural trends to identify emerging voices, outliers, and high-value potential guests.
● Analyse social, search, and audience trends to create a data-informed guest booking strategy, ensuring our podcasts remain timely, relevant, and engaging.
● Conduct in-depth research on potential guests ahead of pitching to Steven, including their expertise, background, and alignment with DOAC themes, spotting unique angles to make episodes stand out.
● Stay ahead of industry trends to identify untapped opportunities for featuring individuals who bring fresh perspectives to our audiences.
Guest Booking and Management
● Work closely with the research team to ideate and execute creative storytelling elements for episodes, including props, imagery, and other visual aids.
● When needed, proactively handle administrative tasks, such as securing release forms.
● Monitor and analyse guest booking trends, providing actionable recommendations to enhance overall processes and the guest experience.
Documentary Research
● Identify when episodes warrant in-depth documentary-style research, evaluating opportunities for a deeper dive into compelling stories or underrepresented topics.
● Collaborate with the Head of Research to locate and secure contacts, experts, and contributors essential for producing high-quality content.
● Conduct advanced outreach to potential collaborators, building bridges to key individuals and organisations who can enrich the narrative.
● Develop workflows to manage the additional complexity of in-depth research episodes, ensuring seamless integration with the wider production team.
Format Development
● Develop extended ideas to booked guests on how the episode could be elevated. E.g. external interviews, props etc.
● Pitch ideas in a formulated fashion to host.
● Plan, budget and execute ideas to the highest level whilst making sure there is an alignment of trends
Studio and Production Support
● Support the Production Director in the operations of DOAC filming, ensuring smooth processes across all guests and research.
Must Haves:
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with high-profile guests and their teams.
● Ability to analyse social, search, cultural, and audience trends to create a data-informed guest booking strategy.
● A keen interest in data YouTube, AI and how it can optimise guest booking and management processes.
● Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
● Availability to attend out-of-hours recordings, including evenings and weekends when needed.
● Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in limited timeframes.
● Commitment to organisational tools and systems to optimise workflows and priorities.
● Passion for delivering seamless, memorable guest experiences and recordings that set the standard for excellence.
Nice To Haves:
● Experience in a similar role, such as production, research or event coordination. ● Budget management skills, including tracking and optimising expenditure.
