Shameless Media is one of Australia’s leading media brands. Our shows, including Shameless, Everybody Has A Secret, Style-ish and Inherited,are known for their fresh, funny, and thoughtful takes on the topics that matter to women.

To continue the growth of our interview format, Inherited, we are looking for a passionate and experienced junior to mid-level off-air Podcast Producer to join our team.

ROLE PURPOSE

As an off-air Podcast Producer, you’ll play a key role in developing and producing high-quality audio content. You’ll be hands-on across every production stage – from concept development and scripting, to talent management, recording, editing, publishing, and promotion. You’ll have creative input, editorial responsibility, and the opportunity to help continue to shape the tone and direction of Inherited.

This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience producing end-to-end podcasts who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and cares deeply about crafting smart, entertaining content that resonates with a large, mainstream, loyal audience.

ROLE DETAILS

  • Job title: Podcast Producer
  • Reporting to: Head of Podcasts
  • Location: Cremorne, Melbourne
  • Type: Full-time
  • WFH split: 4 days in-office, 1 day at home
  • Experience: one to two years of employment in audio (podcasting and radio), with audio editing experience
  • Preferred commencement: January 2026

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the editorial team to develop content ideas and contribute to shaping the show’s creative direction.
  • Produce and edit podcast episodes to a professional broadcast standard using Adobe Audition or a similar editing software.
  • Own the production workflow for Inherited: from content ideation and scripting support to talent bookings, recording, editing, uploading, and publishing.
  • Guest ideation, booking and producing will be central to this role.
  • Manage production schedules and deadlines across multiple shows
  • Liaise with talent, guests, and internal team members to ensure a smooth and professional production process
  • Collaborate on promotional planning and cross-platform execution (e.g. social assets, show notes, titles)
  • Maintain best practices for metadata, episode structuring, and publishing on hosting platforms

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of experience in podcast production (or similar media/audio role)
  • Proficient in Adobe Audition and confident with podcast hosting platforms (e.g. Megaphone , Omny, Whooshkaa, Acast)
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to shape raw content into a compelling final product
  • Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Outstanding attention to detail, especially when it comes to editing, show notes, and metadata
  • Confident communicator who can liaise with talent and internal stakeholders professionally
  • A love for pop culture, storytelling, and digital media
