DoubleVerify expands invalid traffic and viewability measurement to Spotify video ads

With this new Spotify integration, DoubleVerify now offers advertisers on the video side of Spotify fraud measurement and viewability verification. The former aims to detect invalid traffic and comprehensive fraud (hijacked devices, bots) while the latter determines if an ad had the opportunity to be viewed and its impact. A step forward for brand safety in video podcasting, especially with the previously announced framework from Spotify’s Integral Ad Science partnership not yet having manifested.

Amazon Launches An Audio Generator For Ads by Laurie Sullivan

The new generative AI tool makes audio ads, part of a planned suite of generators meant to give brands the ability to make content across all media types. Once an advertiser chooses a product that’s available for sale on Amazon, the AI tool synthesizes ad copy using the product description and details before generating an ad read with a synthetic voice. The audio ads generated are 30 seconds long and currently run across Alexa-enabled devices.

Audio continues its healthy growth in Germany, according to a new report from Audible’s annual Audio Compass study conducted by Verian. This year’s Compass, built from a survey of just over 1,000 respondents aged 18-65, found 46% of Germans regularly listen to audio books, radio plays, or podcasts. A 12% increase from 2023. Back in 2016 when the first Audio Compass was published, that figure was at just 15%.

The Information profiles venture capitalist Harry Stebbings, a British podcaster who has hosted his show 20VC since 2015, landing big-name guests in the entrepreneurial world. Stebbings’ latest feather in his cap is a recent appearance from billionaire Marc Benioff, who came on the show after Stebbings sent 53 weekly emails. 20VC has helped build Stebbings’ profile, including his recently-announced third fund of $400 million to be used on early-stage European and North American startups. Momentum attributed to 20VC allowing Stebbings to raise his profile and get people in the door.

New podcasting club gives Lebanon middle schoolers a chance to speak their minds by Christiana Dolan

A local New Hampshire newspaper covers the Lebanon Middle School podcasting club, in which fifteen students from grades 5 to 8 gather weekly to produce a podcast for the school. The club, spearheaded by the school’s band director in 2020, teaches members about podcast production with two alternating teams publishing 30 minutes of podcast every week. Clubs and class projects like this one are largely built from hobbyist knowledge learned by the faculty member organizing the event. With the growing popularity of podcasting clubs and classes using podcasting as educational tools, there is a growing need for education-grade podcasting resources.
