Role overview:
This contract, part-time Podcast Producer is responsible for the support of podcast operations and production of interview-based shows for our personal finance and passive real estate investing channel. We’re looking for a producer skilled in both audio and video to grow BiggerPockets’ newest channel, collaborate with talent, and support other producers across a network with millions of monthly YouTube viewers and podcast listeners. It’s an opportunity to utilize your creativity, editorial judgment, and production/technical experience to create multi-platform content—bonus points if you’re interested in the FI/RE movement using real estate investing!
You’ll recruit and screen potential guests, outline show topics, direct/coach hosts before and during recording, provide edit notes, bring collaborative energy and a supportive editorial eye to pitch meetings, and identify opportunities for increased audience reach and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the producer for The Passive Real Estate Investing Show show, executing the host’s editorial, brand tone/voice, and overall vision of the show
- Execute the day-to-day podcast production processes to ensure timelines are met:
- Set up and schedule episode recordings in Riverside
- Manage guest recruitment, screening, and pre-interview pipeline
- Research topics and guests to provide hosts with background information
- Support the writing of host intros and interview questions
- Conduct basic “tech checks” with guests and hosts to ensure high-quality video and audio performance during episode recordings
- Line produce episode recordings via Riverside focusing on a YouTube-first production practice
- Collaborate with the post-production team to finalize edits for each episode
- Provide additional production, edit, or administrative support to other BiggerPockets podcasts (like Real Estate Rookie, BiggerPockets Money, and more as needed)
- Identify compelling content from our strong pipeline of podcast episodes to share with other teams including the social media team
- Research competitive podcasts and monitor industry trends as needed to improve podcast performance
- Other production and administrative duties as assigned
About You:
- 3+ years of experience in audio or video production, preferably with interview-based shows
- Preference to YouTube-first production creatives
- Experience with virtual recording software (Riverside, Zoom, etc.) preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot remote tech issues (microphone and camera placement, audio levels, lighting, etc.) and coach hosts and guests remotely to improve their performance on camera
- Willingness to speak up, and be creative in order to generate the most effective and engaging content
- Strong project management skills, and the ability to lead content initiatives with tight deadlines while multitasking—autonomously!
- Excellent research, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management and communication skills: this person will need to collaborate with talent, guests, PR, and different teams at BiggerPockets to ensure we are releasing high-quality episodes that meet company and show objectives
- Interest or familiarity with the real estate industry, personal finance, economics and/or business news is a plus.
