What’s a moment in your career that shaped how you approach podcasting? 
Meeting hundreds of creators at Podfest and understanding their motivation to find their people.
What’s an under-discussed challenge currently faced by your section of podcasting (e.g. production, ad operations, sales, marketing)?
Inbound marketing, i.e. getting people to find your podcast organically instead of having to chase listeners with ads or promotions.
What’s a podcast, ad campaign, or initiative that changed the way you think about the industry?
The Podcast election in the U.S. and how podcasts have become one of the most trusted sources of information.
What’s your favorite piece of podcast research, and why?
I love podcast surveys that help podcasters understand and engage their audience, and even co-create content with them.
What’s a tool, tactic, or strategy you swear by that more people should know about?
Using the right keywords in your show and episode titles and descriptions is critical if you want people to find you.
If you had to build a podcast production/monetization/marketing strategy from scratch today, what’s the first thing you’d focus on?
Make sure you are clear on your business plan ahead of time, especially your goal and target audience.
Where do you see the most untapped growth potential in the industry?
I want a search engine for audio content
What’s a piece of advice you’d give someone looking to break into the business side of podcasting?
Your fresh perspective is an asset! This industry has a huge potential and needs to be disrupted. Go for it!
