We’re Hiring: Kids Audio Production Manager
We’re on the lookout for a brilliant and experienced Kids Audio Production Manager to join our small and mighty Koala Kids network team – home to the hit Bedtime Story show Koala Moon with over 60 million listens as well as; Koala Shine, Koala Tots, and Koala Sleep Sounds.
This role focuses on producing and distributing all of our kids content across the network. It’s a dream opportunity for someone who’s passionate about mindful children’s audio, with a passion for creativity, has sharp editorial instincts, and thrives on managing multiple projects with efficiency and precision.
What you’ll be doing:
As our Kids Audio Production Manager, you’ll oversee the creation and delivery of content across the Koala Kids Network, which includes Koala Moon, Koala Shine, Koala Tots, and Koala Sleep Sounds.
You’ll oversee the full production pipeline – from story planning with writers and editing scripts, to collaborating with sound engineers, voice actors, and our advertising agencies. You’ll also coordinate production timelines, and manage publishing — ensuring every episode is thoughtful, high-quality, and aligned with our brand.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking on full ownership of audio content production across multiple shows
- Collaborating with writers, hosts, sound engineers and our YouTube Lead
- Planning episode releases and maintaining shared calendars
- Uploading episodes and organising content across platforms (Megaphone, Art19, Apple Podcasts Connect)
- Editing scripts from writers, alongside the opportunity to create your own
- Reviewing raw audio files from our voices and ensuring they’re delivered on time
- Reviewing final audio from our sound engineers for quality and brand alignment, alongside collaborating on sound design decisions
- Writing and developing promotional and bonus content
- Building community by managing listener shoutouts and requests
- Reviewing platform data and using insights to guide future content
- Submitting content for editorial consideration on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more
- Helping to grow subscriptions and support community engagement
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in content production (audio engineering experience is not required)
- Strong creative writing and editorial skills, with a good understanding of young audiences
- Keen interest in Kids Media and/or Education
- Organised and detail-oriented. To thrive in the role, you should be able to demonstrate strong ownership of show schedules and work efficiently to meet daily deadlines
- Experienced in managing and growing relationships with partners and collaborators remotely
- Creative thinker who loves audio storytelling, world building and character-driven content
- A desire to create meaningful content that makes a difference to people’s lives
- A good fit for our small, collaborative team – someone who values creativity, kindness, and curiosity with a high attention to detail
- Bonus: Experience with Podcast Hosting platforms
