The role:

Bauer Media Audio reaches more than 20 million listeners each week. We operate over 120 commercial, local, national and digital stations, including Absolute Radio, Magic Radio, KISS and the Hits Radio Brand Network; the biggest commercial network in the UK made up of Hits Radio, Greatest Hits Radio and other iconic local brands.

We continue to grow our podcast portfolio, which currently includes popular shows such as Olivia Atwood’s So Wrong It’s Right, Simon Mayo’s Confessions, The Overshare with Gemma Atkinson and the soon to be launched Manmade with Pete Wicks.

To help scale and diversify our podcast portfolio, we are seeking an experienced, driven and highly motivated Partnerships Manager (Podcasts) who will play a key role in expanding our podcast portfolio, through licensing and partnership agreements.

This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry connections, creator relationships, an understanding of the creator ecosystem and a passion for the evolving world of podcasting and digital media. They will be tasked with identifying, negotiating and managing commercial/creative partnerships with media and rights owners, talent agencies and podcast creators. The ideal candidate will be detail orientated, commercially driven, organised and very influential.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute partnership strategies aligned with our content, marketing, and revenue goals
  • Identify established podcasts and encourage existing podcast creators to join our growing network
  • Secure podcast partnerships and licensing opportunities with a particular focus on the Entertainment, Comedy, Factual and Sport verticals
  • Identify and cultivate new creative and business opportunities directly with content and creators and/or through their representatives
  • Manage relationships with current and future partners to ensure mutual success and long-term value
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with content, sales, and marketing teams to deliver compelling partnership proposals
  • Oversee partnership lifecycle from outreach and negotiation to execution and reporting
  • Track and report on partnership KPIs, performance and opportunities for growth
  • Stay on top of trends in podcasting, media and monetisation to inform strategy

Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in production, talent relationships, digital audio and/or content partnerships
  • Strong network of talent and agency contacts – and influence with them
  • Proven track record of partnering with content creators and driving commercial growth for them
  • Deep familiarity with podcast production, monetisation, publishing models and distribution platforms (e.g., Spotify, Apple Podcasts), ad tech and analytics tools.
  • Awareness of audience development and revenue growth strategies across digital and social platforms
  • Insight into the podcast creator economy and content-driven partnerships
  • Deep understanding of podcast production, audience engagement metrics and industry trends
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in podcasting, digital media and audience development
  • Experienced working with Microsoft (Excel, Teams etc) and other project management software (e.g. Monday)
