As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Sales Planner for our Newsletter vertical.

Position Overview:
This is not a back-office role. This is a launchpad. You will be at the intersection of advertising operations, performance reporting, client management, and sales strategy, gaining hands-on exposure to every stage of our newsletter business vertical. You will own the execution of newsletter sponsorship campaigns from start to finish, ensuring flawless delivery while learning how media partnerships are built, structured, and scaled.

This role is designed to evolve into a full-time sales position within 12–18 months. You will begin by dedicating approximately 80% of your time to campaign execution and operations and 20% of your time to sales support and planning as you progressively build toward owning your own pipeline, book of business, and revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Advertising Operations – You are the operational backbone of the newsletter vertical. Execution must be sharp, reliable, and fast.

● Own end-to-end execution of newsletter sponsorship campaigns by coordinating creative assets, approvals, campaign tracking, and reporting.
● Maintain accurate campaign data and documentation within internal systems.
● Proactively communicate campaign updates, performance, and other concerns to the Newsletter Sales Manager.

Campaign Reporting – You are not just reporting numbers. You are translating performance into opportunity.
● Maintain accurate and timely campaign reporting logs.
● Develop and communicate post-campaign performance reports to brand sponsors.
● Identify performance trends, upsell opportunities, and areas for improvement to the Newsletter Sales Manager.

Account Management & Client Operations – You will help create a best-in-class experience for our newsletter clients.
● Field day-to-day, non-sales questions from newsletter clients.
● Conduct quarterly reviews with newsletter clients.
● Oversee onboarding process for new newsletter clients.
● Track active client agreements and ensure renewals are properly managed.
● Helps facilitate marketing of Backyard Ventures’ partnership opportunities to our current and potential advertising clients.

Sales – This is a pathway role. Performance, initiative, and ownership will determine how quickly you grow into sales.

● Maintain and update core sales materials, including media kits, roster information, and outbound sales assets.
● Conduct research to identify new advertiser prospects and emerging opportunities within the newsletter vertical.
● Support the Newsletter Sales Manager in proposal development by identifying relevant and high-performing newsletters on our roster to pitch advertisers.
● Within the first 12 to 18 months of the start date, you will begin building your own pipeline, book of business, and be responsible for achieving sales targets.

Qualifications:
● 1-2 years of experience in media operations, ad operations, partnerships, or account
management. Experience requirements may be waived for the right candidate.
● Strong organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail.
● Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
● Self-starter who is resourceful and takes ownership of projects from launch to completion.
● Experience working with CRM systems and tracking tools (Airtable experience preferred).
