Since our inception in 2019, we’ve expanded our services to over 175 clients across Podcasts, YouTube, and Newsletters. Our mission is to represent a diverse group of influential voices and facilitate meaningful partnerships that resonate with audiences. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Sales Planner – Podcasts to join our dynamic podcast team.

Position Overview: As a Sales Planner – Podcasts at Backyard Ventures, you will be a key member of the podcast monetization team responsible for driving advertising revenue for our podcast clients, utilizing both inbound leads / existing relationships and also cold outreach / prospecting to find new advertisers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support the RFP process for brand partnerships by identifying the most relevant and high-performing creators across our network, ensuring proposals are strategic, compelling, and delivered on deadline.
  • Research, identify, and organize new brand contacts spending in the podcast space across key categories, using our partner platforms like Magellan, ZoomInfo, and other industry tools, and support our sales team in outbound prospecting.
  • Build and maintain outreach messaging templates and sequences for every podcast on the BV Roster, including show-specific and genre-specific versions for use in outbound sales for warm and cold contacts.
  • Develop content for BV’s monthly brand and agency-facing newsletter, highlighting new show launches, creator updates, seasonal/tentpole opportunities, and fire sale opportunities, and work closely with the sales team to ensure the content supports active outreach and client engagement.
  • Create post-campaign performance recaps using internal reporting and work closely with our ad operations team to increase our renewal and long-term advertiser relationships.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all active podcast client contracts and coordinate with internal teams to ensure terms, deliverables, and expiration dates are tracked accurately.
  • Manage a content calendar that ties into seasonal tentpole advertising moments like holidays and sports seasons to support timely outbound sales pushes.
  • Vet incoming creator leads and work with our Director of Podcasts to ensure that all podcasts are being supported and responded to quickly.

What You Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in advertising, sales support, marketing, podcasting, or media
  • Familiarity with or interest in the podcast and creator landscape, including trends, popular talent, and how advertising works in the space.
  • Proficiency in digital productivity tools and a proven ability to navigate a fast-paced work environment.
  • A collaborative spirit, capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with a track record of driving results and managing successful ad campaigns.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage deadlines, track deliverables, and keep multiple projects moving forward.
  • Comfortable working in digital platforms like Google Workspace, Airtable, Slack, and project management or CRM tools.
  • Excited to build relationships, communicate with external partners, and contribute to the success of our creators and brand clients.
