As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview: As a Staff Accountant at Backyard Ventures, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations. You will be responsible for bookkeeping, invoicing, and utilizing data analytics to provide insights that drive our growth. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and a keen understanding of financial reporting. This position reports directly to the Founder/CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.

Invoicing: Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring timely payments and follow-up on outstanding balances.

Payroll: Run creator and staff payroll once monthly

Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support decision-making.

Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for growth; provide actionable recommendations to management.

Budgeting: Assist in the budgeting process, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.

Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment between financial data and operational activities.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping; experience in a media or agency environment is a plus.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Gusto, Airtable) and Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
