THE ROLE

  • Work with audio production teams to develop ideas, produce, film and edit long- and short-form video content around select podcasts, working closely with ad sales, marketing, media planning and distribution teams.
  • Produce creative responses to internal and external briefs (including advertiser briefs) and lead this work from end-to-end ensuring collaborative relationships between multiple stakeholders.
  • Produce longform visual episodes of podcasts and digital video assets that can be used across social media platforms, using relevant audio/video hardware, native social platform tools and relevant multimedia software.
  • Optimise digital assets for social, including editing aspect ratio and dimensions, adding captions, transitions, motion graphics, etc.
  • Manage/guide the account’s editorial publishing plan, including creating/curating, publishing, scheduling and targeting content, ensuring that it supports both the overarching strategic priorities and meets audience needs.
  • Advocate for innovation and monitor external trends and developments in the world of digital and social media, maintaining industry links, utilising new technological approaches and staying abreast of competitor activity and feeding in ideas for innovation and continued best practice via regular reporting.
  • Work with moderation services, editorial policy and other support teams to develop appropriate responses to editorially sensitive comments.
  • Engage with talent, influencers and brands to drive social engagement.
  • Work closely with communications and publicity teams to ensure timely release of information.
  • Work with relevant social media measurement teams to agree tracking and evaluation metrics to monitor performance against, to evaluate audience behaviour and to provide recommendations to inform future planning, strategy development and activity.
  • Coordinate information and reports for the team on a regular basis as required by the Audio Producer and other senior stakeholders, using social listening/measurement/insight tools and dashboards.
  • Ensure all social activity is correctly complied (as per BBC brand guidelines) and is in line with BBC editorial guidelines.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

Essential Criteria

  • A record of working with commercial video podcasts across social media, developing and delivering social media strategies, creating content and managing communities, using analytics to drive decision making.
  • Demonstrable experience of hands-on production of social-first video, including filming, editing, adding graphics and effects, and publishing content using relevant audio/video hardware, native social platform tools and relevant multimedia software.
  • A passion for podcasting and an understanding of production and distribution processes processes.
  • Leadership and influencing skills to drive forward new initiatives and influence strategic thinking at senior levels.
  • An established networker in the social media space who is able to engage and influence creative individuals.
  • Good planning and organising skills across several areas of work, reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to make the most efficient use of resources and operate within financial and other constraints.
  • Ability to understand audience needs and behaviours across platforms /devices / content and translate this into strategic thinking.

Desirable Criteria

  • General Business and Strategy experience in a commercial organisation, demonstrating a sound business understanding.
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation.
  • Experience of building and developing a successful team.

Contract: Fixed term, 12 months

Salary: £44,500 to £55,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Location: Office Base is London, Television Centre

Interviews are expected to be held on 13th or 14th February 2025.
