About the Role
We’re hiring a full-time YouTube Strategist to own strategy, analytics, and performance optimization across a portfolio of brands that operate like creators. This is not a social media manager role. This role is for someone who lives inside YouTube Studio, understands how creative decisions impact distribution, and knows how to translate analytics into editorial, packaging, and revenue strategy.
You’ll work directly with our in-house content producers (lead storytellers) to ensure every channel applies best practices across:
- Video editorial strategy
- Packaging (titles, thumbnails, formats)
- Retention-driven editing
- Analytics, testing, and iteration
- Revenue and paid amplification strategy
You will be the person everyone turns to when asking:
“Why did this work?”
“Why didn’t this?”
“What do we test next?”
What You’ll Own
YouTube Strategy & Channel Direction
Develop channel-level strategy for each brand, aligned with business goals (growth, leads, revenue, authority)
Define editorial positioning and format strategy for each channel
Translate brand goals into YouTube-native content decisions (not platform-agnostic thinking)
Editorial, Visual & Process SOPs
Create editorial SOPs per project (formats, cadence, tone, topic buckets)
Define visual SOPs (thumbnails, titling patterns, brand consistency, packaging rules)
Partner with producers and editors to ensure SOPs are actually usable in production
Maintain and evolve SOPs as channels mature
Analytics, Testing & Optimization
Own YouTube analytics end-to-end (long-form, Shorts, monetization, audience behaviour)
Lead A/B testing strategy (titles, thumbnails, formats, hooks, length)
Design and run audience testing experiments
Diagnose performance issues with clarity (strategy vs execution vs timing)
Produce monthly performance reports that actually inform decisions.
Collaboration with Producers
Work side-by-side with content producers to:
Pressure-test ideas before production
Improve retention and pacing through strategic feedback
Align editing decisions with audience psychology
Be a strategic partner, not a creative bottleneck
Revenue & Growth Strategy
Advise on YouTube monetization (ads, integrations, partnerships, evergreen content)
Support paid YouTube strategy (when to amplify, what to amplify, what not to)
Understand how organic and paid interact, and where they absolutely shouldn’t
What We’re Looking For
You Are:
Deeply fluent in YouTube Studio and YouTube audience analytics
Obsessed with retention, watch time, and packaging
Comfortable working across multiple brands and verticals
Opinionated, but data-driven
Process-minded (you think in systems, frameworks, and repeatability)
Able to explain complex performance insights in plain language
You Have:
3–6+ years of hands-on YouTube strategy experience
Proven experience working with brands or creator-led channels
Experience collaborating with editors and producers (you understand production realities)
Strong understanding of:
Long-form vs Shorts dynamics
A/B testing methodology
Audience segmentation and viewer behavior
Monetization and paid amplification fundamentals
