San Francisco, CA — How to Do the Pot, the award-winning podcast dedicated to helping women feel confident about cannabis, is debuting a new 2-part series on how to help a friend who is nervous about cannabis. Women are embracing weed for better sleep, sex and to relieve stress. Yet, do you have friends who are still too hesitant to try it? In this series, health experts and women across the country share tips for talking to friends who are nervous about weed. We’ll explore why some women still fear the plant—from concerns about safety to memories of bad experiences like anxiety to fears of addiction. Get practical advice to help your girlfriends explore the benefits of cannabis on their own terms.

Episode 1: Helping You Feel Safe Around Cannabis In the first episode, we’re covering health and safety. We’ll hear from medical experts about how cannabis connects with our bodies and talk about how to avoid anxiety and other negative side effects if you’re considering cannabis as an alternative to prescription or over the counter medicines.

“If cannabis is a part of your life, talk about it more openly. If I’m a mother of four and I’m having these conversations with my daughter and it’s my business, I need to be more open about my consumption and have those conversations with people so they can get more comfortable around it. Because the more we’re educating, the more we’re de-stigmatizing, the more comfortable people will be in making it a choice for their life.” – Rosie Mattio

Episode 2: How to Have a Positive First (or Second) Experience with Cannabis In the second episode, we’ll learn why some people choose not to try cannabis for a second time, hear trusted advice about the specific amount of weed to try and share a tip for what to do if you accidentally get too high.

“The first time you consumed alcohol, you had to find what you liked. Are you a beer drinker? Are you a tequila drinker? People sample and they try, and that’s what you have to do with cannabis too. You have to be open to just taking small, small doses and figuring out what is the process that works for you.” – Whitney Conroy
