Host Neil S. Smith, a highly regarded NHL executive, served as the President and General Manager of the 1994 Stanley Cup Champion New York Rangers, leading them to significant success. Known for his expertise in sports franchise economics, he played a pivotal role in shaping the team’s destiny under four different owners. Smith’s career includes the 1989 draft for the Detroit Red Wings, bold NHL trades, a brief stint as GM for the New York Islanders in 2006, and his current role as an analyst for NHL Network and Rogers Sportsnet.
Host Vic Morren, a New York City native and William Paterson University graduate, has been deeply involved in hockey as a fan, player, and TV production manager. He pioneered statistical analysis for NHL telecasts from 1984-87 and won a Sports Emmy for Sunday Night Football in 2003. With a 33-year friendship with Neil Smith, their collaboration on NHL Wraparound aims to offer contemporary viewpoints and historical insights.
