The San Francisco Standard Announces New Flagship Podcast “Pacific Standard Time”

The San Francisco Standard

November 12, 2025

The San Francisco Standard today announced the launch of Pacific Standard Time, a new weekly news podcast about the people and ideas driving California’s future — and their ripple effects across the country. The show is hosted by Emily Dreyfuss and Jesse Alejandro Cottrell, with new episodes every Wednesday.

“Pacific Standard Time, or PST for short, is a weekly show about what’s happening in California and why it matters. It’s for people living here and people outside of this place wondering what the hell is going on out here,” said co-host Emily Dreyfuss. “Each week we’ll bring you a deep dive into something particular going on in our state — from the insanity of housing costs to the ways local mayors are trying to protect immigrants from federal crackdowns, to fun stuff like weird sex dinner parties and whistling competitions.”

Pacific Standard Time premieres November 19, 2025, with new episodes every Wednesday on all major podcast platforms. Listen to the show trailer now and follow/subscribe to hear new episodes as they drop.
