International Women's Podcast Awards

May 20, 2025

The nominees for this year’s International Women’s Podcast Awards have been announced today, with a full list of the nominees across all 10 categories available here.

The 2025 IWPAs received entries from a record number of countries – 35 this time! – showing that the international reach of both podcasting as a medium and the International Women’s Podcast Awards continues to grow.

The IWPA Bursary Fund, made possible by the generous support of BBC Sounds, Amazon Music and Wondery, was once again open this year, providing complimentary entries to anyone, anywhere in the world that might benefit, and, as in previous years, feedback continues to be that improving financial accessibility is essential for the podcast industry. Over a third of entries utilised the bursary this year, and it is now very much a part of the IWPAs annually.

With entries from countries including Senegal, Qatar and the Philippines across 10 categories, the judging panel, consisting of podcasting and audio professionals globally, were deeply impressed with the breadth and quality of entries submitted this year.

The team at the IWPAs are looking forward to meeting many of those who entered the awards at this year’s event, where winners and runners up will be recognised for creating exceptional ‘moments’ of audio brilliance. Now in its 5th year, the awards will take place on Tuesday 17th June at the BBC Radio Theatre with an accompanying global livestream, bringing together podcasters, audio professionals, and podcast enthusiasts to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in podcasting worldwide.

Tickets to the event are available now via the IWPA webpage.

The IWPA Bursary Fund was established in 2022 to facilitate complimentary entry and tickets to the awards – either in person or virtually – to anyone, anywhere in the world that might benefit, and is once again open for tickets to the awards this year. Due to significant uptake on entries, there are a limited number of tickets available via the bursary this year, but a new scheme is now in place where people have the option to gift a ticket to someone else who may benefit, even if not attending in person.

The International Women’s Podcast Awards recognises and honours the outstanding contributions made by a wide range of folks in the podcasting sector, from those who are self-taught and producing shows solo, to those part of larger teams at established audio companies. Podcasting is a powerful medium that provides a platform for people to tell their story, showcase their work, and have their voice heard.

This year’s event will showcase the remarkable work and creative excellence of podcasters across ten categories. From educational and informative shows, to captivating storytelling, the International Women’s Podcast Awards will recognise those creating exceptional work. A panel of judges consisting of podcasters, journalists, and experienced professionals have evaluated the submitted entries and will select the winners across all categories.
