Conference Call follows Julie Burke, as she partners with eccentric entrepreneurs Joel and Jed Toade. Jeff Ward (“Hacks”), Gregory Stees (“Funny or Die”) wrote and directed the audio show which is structured as a public radio documentary. Ward and Stees star as “The Toade Bros.”, two hapless “entrepreneurs” in tech who have failed spectacularly. Elizabeth Henstridge (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) plays their new business partner, Julie Burke, a tech entrepreneur down on her luck. The show is made up of recordings of video conference calls between these three characters.
Julie patiently helps the Toades desperately pitch their half-baked ideas to a string of bewildered investors. Pouring over hours of cringeworthy recorded phone calls from this oddball tech company, our (fake) investigative podcaster, Charlotte Dunn (Roberts), delivers a story of incompetence, fraud, and betrayal. After the Toades manage to do the unthinkable, Julie is left with no choice but to take action.
In addition to Roberts, the podcast features an extensive cast of high-profile talent, including guest appearances by Christopher Abbott (“Catch-22”), Demi Adejiyugbe (“The Late Late Show”), Joyce Aimee (“PEN15”), Beck Bennett (“SNL”), Iain DeCaestecker (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Clark Gregg (“Avengers: End Game”), Nick Kocher (“SNL”), David Lengel (“Wandavision”), Grant O’Brien (“CollegeHumor”), and Aaron Schroeder (“Adam Ruins Everything”), among others.
Conference Call will be released weekly on all podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and will also be available in full and ad-free on launch day for subscribers to Realm+ and Realm Unlimited.
