UK Healthtech Leader Thriva Tackles Wellbeing Confusion With Evidence-Based Podcast Launch

January 21, 2026

As wellness culture reaches fever pitch it’s easy to see why so many struggle to maintain their health amid conflicting advice. Leading healthtech company Thriva, which offers a proactive blood testing service to help users track their health and take action to improve it, is launching a podcast to tackle the problem head-on.

The Method – Health in the Real World launched 5th January, 2026, offers a science-backed answer to a space filled with hype and contradictions. The podcast addresses a growing crisis: while health information has never been more accessible, people have never been more confused about what actually works.

Cold plunges. Continuous glucose monitors. Protein timing. Red light therapy. Avoiding microplastics. With new health trends appearing daily, how do people figure out what’s worth their time and money?

The Companion Approach

Unlike traditional health podcasts that stop at the science, The Method acts as a trusted companion for navigating modern health decisions. In each episode, long-time friends Dr. Greg Potter and Charlie Edmondson interview leading experts to examine health topics through three evidence-based lenses:

The Science: What the experts, data, and scientific research say

The Practice: How to turn theory into habit and sustainable behaviour change

The Experience: How the practice lives up to expectation in real life

“There’s never been more health information available, yet many of us are more confused than ever,” says Dr. Greg Potter, a health consultant with a PhD in sleep, nutrition, and metabolic health. “People are drowning in a whirlpool of conflicting advice. Our mission is simple: focus on what actually matters for long-term health – specifically, the widely-beneficial health actions that are sustainable in a busy, modern life.”

The podcast arrives at a critical moment when wellness spending continues to climb while public health outcomes stagnate. The Method offers a counterpoint: evidence-based guidance that helps listeners distinguish between what’s scientifically sound and what’s simply expensive noise.

Beyond Biohacks: Health for Real Life

In an often chaotic world, The Method helps listeners keep an eye on the long game: maximising healthspan, not just lifespan. Whether it’s eating better, moving with intention, or getting quality sleep, the podcast helps build evidence-based habits that stick – even when life gets messy.

Topics include supplements, brain health, personalised nutrition, biomarker tracking, zone 2 training, stress management, psychological wellness, social connection, and emotional resilience.

Charlie Edmondson, former Team GB triathlete, brings a practical, real-world perspective on fitness and health. “I spent my childhood swimming and playing hockey, went on to represent Team GB in triathlon and duathlon, now spend as much time as possible in the mountains, endurance running and have even recently taken up bouldering – but it’s safe to say I’m definitely not a scientist,” says Charlie. “I’m just a normal person with a 9–5, trying to fit health into real life. I’m here to ask the practical questions people actually want answered: what really works, what’s a waste of time, and how to stay healthy without giving up the things you enjoy…which, in my case, is the occasional Guinness”

Empowering Health Confidence

Whether listeners are new to proactive health or experienced and seeking nuanced conversations, The Method provides tools to chart their own path towards health confidence. It’s not another podcast telling people what to do, but a companion helping them figure out what works for them.

The Method is brought to you by Thriva, whose mission is to bridge the gap between lifespan and healthspan, helping people live better, for longer, through at-home blood testing paired with expert guidance.
