Wondery+ and Law&Crime Close Exclusive Content Distribution Deal

In a first of its kind deal for the top podcast subscription service, Wondery+ will serve as the exclusive launch destination for Law&Crime’s six upcoming brand new True Crime podcasts

Today, Wondery+, the premium podcast subscription service, unveils a multi-title content distribution deal with Law&Crime Productions, a pioneer in legal and true crime audio content. Wondery+ will serve as the exclusive launch destination for a slate of six upcoming new Law&Crime originals. Each podcast will feature unprecedented courtroom coverage of trials currently in the zeitgeist, and will be available exclusively on Wondery+ for 90-days before releasing wide. This partnership builds on the 2023 releases of the #1 Wondery+ exclusive series “Devil in the Dorm” and “Severed Affair”, both of which are available now to binge ad-free on Wondery+.

Curated by award-winning ABC News Chief Legal Correspondent, Dan Abrams, Law&Crime boasts a massive, multi-platform audience spanning digital, cable, and social media. With over 5 million subscribers and 3 billion video views on their YouTube channel alone, Law&Crime is a dominant force in the legal and true crime content space. The first podcast, “The Rise and Fall of Ruby Franke,” will follow the case of the former family YouTube vlogger charged with multiple counts of child abuse, and is slated to launch on Wondery+ on February 19, the day prior to Franke’s sentencing.

Wondery+, home for premium, immersive podcast content, and its library of exclusive, early access, and ad-free podcasts, is excited to bring Law&Crime’s podcast slate exclusively to its subscribers. Each podcast will have an exclusive 90-day window on Wondery+ before its wide release, offering podcast superfans first access to the premium content.

“Wondery+ is dedicated to delivering premium content to our subscribers, and this partnership with Law&Crime exemplifies our commitment to providing an exclusive and ad-free podcast listening experience,” stated Neel Ketkar, Wondery’s Head of Product, Data, and Tech. “We are thrilled to serve as the premiere subscription service for Law&Crime’s exceptional lineup of upcoming new podcasts, creating a theatrical-release atmosphere for our devoted fans by providing exclusive series they can’t get anywhere else.”

“We’re thrilled to continue working with Wondery+ to bring an exciting slate of podcasts to true crime fans everywhere,” said Rachel Stockman, President of Law&Crime. “Beginning with the Ruby Franke case, we’ve lined up the top legal cases that will keep Wondery+ subscribers on the edge of their seats.”

The deal covers the following three titles thus far, with additional titles to be confirmed:

● “The Rise and Fall of Ruby Franke”: In the 7-episode series, listeners will explore the ins and outs of the Franke household, their hit YouTube channel “8 Passengers,” Ruby’s partnership with Jodi Hildebrandt and “ConneXions Classroom,” all culminating in a Utah courthouse where Franke and Hildebrandt face the long arm of the law. Through key interviews with followers, victims, family members, prosecutors and others close to the investigation, it attempts to answer the #1 question from Franke’s former fans – how could Ruby’s “no-nonsense” parenting style earn her millions of views on the internet, while also masking the torture and starvation of her own children when the cameras were off?

● “Murder in the Panhandle: The Death of Dan Markel”: Professor Dan Markel was shot to death in the garage of his Tallahassee home in 2014 after dropping his children off at daycare. Police and the FBI quickly began the work of trying to find a killer. The series dives back into the case first explored in Season 1 of Wondery’s popular podcast, “Over My Dead Body.”

● “Aiden Fucci: Teen Monster Murder Trial”: The death of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey shocked the affluent Florida neighborhood where her family and killer lived in May 2021. 14-year-old Aiden Fucci pleaded guilty to brutally stabbing the cheerleader 114 times in a premeditated murder for thrills.
