Australian Podcasting Continues Growth [Multiple Sources]
IAB Australia has published their Internet Advertising Revenue report, prepared by PwC Australia. Podcasting stands out as the fastest-growing ad format in the country, up 26.5% year over year for the quarter. Meanwhile, Southern Cross Austereo reports their audio business is their main focus as a broadcaster while in conversation with multiple parties to sell SCA’s TV assets. Their Q3 revenue report says the company saw a 1.5% ad revenue increase in Q3, with digital audio delivering the most in an otherwise short advertising market.
Evergreen Podcasts Acquires Rhapsody Voices in Deal to Form Bold New Media Venture
The new acquisition will bring together the teams of Evergreen Podcasts with Rhapsody Ventures, a company founded last year by industry veteran Mike Jensen. As part of the acquisition, Jensen will become Chief Business Officer of Evergreen Podcasts. We expect to see more mergers and acquisitions in a similar style to this pop up in podcasting, with collaboration continuing to be a driving force of the industry’s success.
Less brand safety, more SEO spend in 2025, Forrester predicts
A new report from Forrester forecasts that in 2025 brand safety concerns will take a bake seat to “brand smart” strategies. Changes predicted to be popular trends include keyword exclusion lists being retired in favor of white-listing publishers to include in campaigns, based off a survey of CMOs which found 53% of U.S. B2C marketing execs are becoming less “prudish” about brand safety.
