LAST CALL for Tom Webster’s live presentation of The Creators 2025. It’s been three years since the first edition of The Creators, and Sounds Profitables’ bringing an updated look at the people actually making podcasts. Built from a survey of over 5,000 respondents, The Creators 2025 is looking at the diverse backgrounds of podcasting, who’s succeeding, and what might be driving one in three creators to fall off podcasting entirely. Register now to attend and be among the first to receive the report!
Chartable Shut Down
We’ve known it was coming for quite some time, but yesterday the public version of Chartable formally shuttered. As Bumper CTO Stephen Hallgren notes on LinkedIn, podcasts using Chartable prefixes will have stopped working as well until said prefixes are updated. While I did talk about this in the far-off land of three months ago, I do wanna highlight Bumper’s article looking at Chartable replacement options as they currently exist. While there is no one-size-fits-all solution, one can piecemeal together multiple services to get something approaching what Chartable offered.
The new end-of-year forecast predicts 8.8% ad spend growth over 2025 (excluding political spend). A notable increase from back in June with tariff concerns kept the estimation back at 6%. A large chunk of the cheery outlook is attributed to slackening tariff drama, and the AI boom that’s come in recent months. Though, extrapolating out further, WPP expects next year to hit about 7.1% growth.
Continuing the spirit of Bello Collective’s now-retired 100 Outstanding Podcasts annual tradition, Tink Media is back with another massive list of podcasts recommended by folks from all around the podcasting industry. Familiar faces you might spot in the list include names from Atypical Artists, Multitude, Ausha, and The Podglomerate. Even lil’ old Sounds Profitable makes an appearance as both Tom Webster and I have some recommendations. Recommendations are individually linked, sorted by category, and Tink has also provided playlists of all recommended episodes on both Spotify and Podchaser.
