April 7, 2025

A new podcast from the global management consulting firm BCG explores the “bold ambition” of the Middle East with the visionary leaders, industry pioneers and global investors shaping the region’s future.

In the last few years the Middle East has seen a phenomenal rise in the popularity of podcasts and consumption is now far ahead of the UK and US. In Qatar 73% of adults listen to at least one hour of podcasts per week, in Saudi Arabia 67% and in the UAE 62%. This compares to around 20% in the UK, 39% in the US and a global average of 44%.

Launching on 8th April 2025, the first episode of Flavors of Ambition features Maysa Jalbout, a global education advocate and leader in international development and philanthropy. She was the founding CEO of the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, Queen Rania Foundation and other initiatives.

Pablo Martinez, Managing Director and Senior Partner, Head of BCG Middle East, explains: “The Middle East is undergoing an unprecedented period of transformation, fueled by bold ambition, diversified investments, and a drive to lead in industries of the future. For nearly two decades, BCG has been a trusted partner in this journey – working alongside governments, businesses, and innovators to shape the region’s economic and technological evolution.

“Flavors of Ambition is a platform to spotlight the people and ideas propelling this change. It will uncover how leaders across sectors – from AI and renewable energy to healthcare, trade, and education – are blending innovation with the region’s deep-rooted values to redefine the Middle East’s role on the global stage.”

The podcast is hosted by award-winning journalist and presenter Ramia Farrage and the first episode also features Leila Hoteit, Managing Director and Senior Partner, Global Lead of Education, Employment and Welfare at BCG.
