Account Management Lead (Los Angeles or Boston)
RedCircle is a podcast monetization platform, providing a first-of-its-kind fully-automated podcast advertising solution. With our ad platform RAP, advertisers can execute high-scale / high-performance podcast media buys on hundreds of podcasts in a few clicks. For podcast creators, RAP provides important revenue and a streamlined system for managing complex ad deals. In short, RedCircle is about getting podcasters paid as well as helping advertisers to drive new growth through podcast ads.
As the Account Management Lead, you’ll be leading a team of account managers — some focused on podcast creators, others working with advertisers. This position is a ‘player/coach’ position, where you’ll spend two-thirds of your time leading your group and developing your Account Managers, but you’ll also dedicate one-third of your time to managing a few clients directly. As a leader, you’ll work with senior leadership in developing the team’s goals, and you’ll be responsible for helping your team to plan and execute against those goals. Process development is key here; you’ll work with your team to establish stay organized and process-driven to ensure observability and repeatability in our account management.
On the podcaster side, your team is focused on onboarding, retention, and customer engagement. You’ll help establish procedures for a smooth transition into the platform, and you’ll help ensure that podcasters are taken care of and are growing as they mature as customers. On the advertiser side, your team is focused on campaign design, execution, and reporting; we collaborate with brands and agencies in the creation of ad campaigns, and work to deliver and report on strong performance, leading to strong renewal rates.
As our business grows, we’re looking for our first leader to help scale up our people and processes in the account management domain. We’re excited to bring a new leader to the team, helping RedCircle to maintain positive, growing, and deepening relationships with our customers.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Management
- Provide top-quality people management, helping to grow the capacity and careers of your staff.
- Set team goals and organize / motivate the team towards them.
- Collaborate with the rest of the company, especially leadership, on cross-functional projects / issues.
- Establish scalable processes that take what we’ve learned so far, and turn it into a growth and retention machine.
Podcaster Account Management
- Deeply understand the RedCircle product and provide instruction, feedback, and support to podcasters using it.
- Observe and provide feedback to your staff’s work with podcasters to help them grow as Account Managers.
- Assist your staff with key customers and complex issues that may arise.
- Provide account management services to a small number of podcasters as the ‘player’ not the ‘coach’
Advertiser Account Management
- Understand the design and execution of podcasting advertising campaigns (CPMs, pixel-tracking, download data, etc), how it works on RedCircle, and speak with clients confidently about these topics.
- Provide oversight, feedback, and accountability to your staff’s work / campaigns with advertisers.
- Handle customer difficulties / escalations in collaboration with your staff.
- Provide account management services to a small number of advertisers as the ‘player’ not the ‘coach’.
A GREAT CANDIDATE…
- Has experience in a digital media / advertising environment, a hard requirement. Podcasting / audio experience is strongly preferred.
- Has 5+ years of relevant experience in account management / customer success.
- Has 1+ years of management experience. Must have experience in both people management / development as well as process / organizational management.
- Is driven to succeed and work in a fast-paced environment
- Is proficient in time management, setting priorities, and taking initiative
- Shows willingness to do light travel as needed to meet key clients at industry events.
- Has a track record of overachieving against defined metrics
- Has exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills – phone, email, and videoconference.
- Has experience building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Comes with expertise in digital marketing technology, and has the technical skills to work with marketing software tools / speak about campaign performance with technical clients.
- Brings warmth and empathy with both their staff and with clients.
- Lives in LA or Boston, or is willing to relocate. Our team works in a hybrid environment, working from our offices at least 1-2 days per week.
Salary Range: 100k – 160k commensurate with experience.
