TMG Studios, an acclaimed podcast network and production company, is looking for an Ad Operations Specialist to join our growing team. This position plays a crucial role in managing advertising operations across our suite of podcasts, which includes award-winning titles such as Tiny Meat Gang, Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast, Foul Tip, Insanely Chill, and Stretch and Fade, with more to come.
As an Ad Operations Specialist, you will be involved in every phase of our advertising sales process. From the pre-sale stage of vetting potential campaigns and coordinating product approval with hosts, to post-sale activities such as verifying campaign terms, onboarding advertisers, and tracking ad spots. You will also work closely with our accounting department during the invoicing phase. Your role is essential to maintaining our smooth and successful ad operations.
- Oversee the pre-sale process by vetting advertising campaigns and liaising with show producers for product availability and host approval. Coordinate the shipment of physical products to hosts when necessary.
- Work closely with the sales and content teams to ensure successful execution and delivery of ad campaigns.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our available ad inventory and manage the scheduling and trafficking of all podcast ads.
- Collaborate with the sales team to support their efforts by preparing data and analytics that contribute to compelling sales presentations.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of ad campaigns and provide regular reports to stakeholders, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with advertisers and the content team to ensure ads meet technical standards and are consistent with our brand voice and values.
- Ensure all negotiated deal points are correctly stipulated in the Insertion Order (IO) and review credit applications for new vendors.
- Manage the accurate entry of all campaign details into the respective inventory spreadsheets, and coordinate onboarding calls with advertisers/agencies and show producers. Ensure finalized ad copy, product placement, and graphics files are delivered on time.
- Work closely with the accounting department to verify the correct execution of each ad spot, along with the correct rates, actual drop dates, timestamps, and guaranteed impression delivery.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in podcast advertising and bring insights to the team that help maintain and improve our competitive position.
- Minimum two years of experience in marketing/operations, preferably within the podcast, radio, or digital media industry.
- Experience in managing all phases of the advertising process, from pre-sale to invoicing.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of ad operations technology and platforms is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the audio/video podcasting landscape and its key players.
- Passion for podcasts and an understanding of what makes content engaging for listeners.
- Proficiency in managing and delivering ad campaigns, with a proven record of meeting or exceeding targets.
