YR Media is launching its Midwest Hub (Chicago) and is seeking a part-time Journalism and Podcasting Instructor. The Journalism and Podcasting Instructor will be responsible for teaching journalism, podcasting and media literacy skills to students ages 14-24. They will work with a diverse team of instructors to implement our media and digital technology education training program and work with the larger media education team to ensure the positive well being and development of all youth participants.

This position holds principal oversight of the training for YR Media’s beginner journalism and podcasting track and oversees the work of Interns and Program Assistants – peer youth educators – that teach in the program. Applicants with experience working with Chicago youth from different backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a love of working with young people, be familiar with youth development principles and practices, and be comfortable with facilitating interactive teaching and learning. They will have experience with journalism, podcasting and experience in digital media, and storytelling.
