THE ROLE

We are looking for a talented podcast marketing manager who can help grow BBC Studios global podcast business and build audiences for our titles around the world. With a passion for the BBC’s renowned audio legacy and output, and a vast knowledge of the podcast landscape, the ideal candidate will help expand and sustain audiences outside the UK. They will deliver marketing campaigns for new series launches and identify marketing moments to help drive listeners and subscribers. The role will play an important role in the collaboration between the Global Media & Streaming and Production teams, helping us to develop content and grow the business together. From news and sport to history, science, true crime and fiction, there will be opportunities to work across a broad range of content including acclaimed BBC titles such as In Our Time, The Global Story, World of Secrets, You’re Dead to Me and Desert Island Discs.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Plan global marketing campaigns for priority podcast launches across owned, earned and paid marketing channels.
  • Develop multi-channel strategies for growing and retaining listeners and subscribers outside the UK.
  • Identify opportunities for reactive marketing to help drive listens of episodes and series.
  • Manage paid media campaigns incorporating podcast platforms, social, search and more.
  • Work closely with audio production teams to ensure marketing is on-brand, to manage marketing assets and talent promotion, to share and analyse marketing and audience data and to advise on best practices in podcasting.
  • Brief creative team on marketing assets, ensuring key art for titles and campaigns is premium and impactful.
  • Identify and plan opportunities to promote content across the wider BBC marketing ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with BBC Sounds and BBC World Service teams to deliver aligned marketing plans across regions.
  • Work with comms team to drive media coverage.
  • Establish marketing processes and efficient ways of working across teams.
  • Collaborate with social leads and plan activity across social and YouTube to drive discovery and content sampling.
  • Identify opportunities and enable award submissions for our podcasts.
  • Track performance of marketing, use data to optimise campaigns and report to key stakeholders.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

  • 3-5 years in podcast marketing roles.
  • Experience in growing podcast audiences.
  • Strong understanding of the global commercial audio landscape.
  • Knowledge of podcast advertising platforms, paid media strategies and campaign optimisation.
  • Data-driven mindset.
  • Passion for the BBC’s audio output.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and prioritise workloads.

Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
