Reason is hiring a full-time podcast producer to oversee The Reason Roundtable, our weekly news-driven podcast, and The Reason Interview With Nick Gillespie.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with hosts and fellow producers to develop scripts, segment topics, and overall program direction
Work closely with audio engineers to edit content and ensure high production quality
Track down relevant soundbites and select compelling clips for publishing
Oversee the logistics of podcast and video production, including recording schedules and technical coordination
Provide constructive feedback to hosts and production team
Book guests and manage communication and scheduling
Manage and maintain two YouTube channels, ensuring consistent, high-quality content
Edit videos using Adobe Premiere for publishing across platforms
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in video and/or cable news production, TV broadcasting, or an equivalent field
Deep understanding of politics and public policy
Familiarity with Reason and its mission, with an appreciation for the libertarian worldview
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a creative production environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to logistical details
Proficiency with podcast production tools and platforms, with particular strength in YouTube management
Basic video editing skills using Adobe Premiere
Willingness to travel up to 10% for live events
Location
This position can be based in our Washington, D.C. office or virtually from anywhere in the United States. While preference will be given to candidates based in or willing to relocate to the D.C. area, we welcome applications from exceptionally qualified individuals regardless of location.
