As our newest Sales Director, Podcast Ad Sales — you will play an instrumental role, driving revenue growth for the Global Podcast Division across Sony Music Entertainment’s premium slate. Our audio expertise brings to life the bold voices, big personalities and unforgettable stories for which Sony Podcasts have become globally renowned, and this role will be responsible for managing relationships with key buying agencies and brands directly, crafting creative media plans and overseeing the successful delivery of campaigns. We are on the hunt for a confident and experienced Sales Director to manage and expand a portfolio of key media agency and brand relationships across the US national market, leveraging some of the highest caliber talent in the industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage a sales pipeline, generate leads, track leads and heavy outbound prospecting
  • Develop, establish and build upon strong current relationships across select performance agencies and marketers in the podcast space
  • Manage new business opportunities, both brands direct and agencies
  • Negotiate deal costs and terms to close advertising buys
  • Work with our Content, Client Solutions and Finance teams to maximize available inventory, and ensure spots are booked, fulfilled, and billed.
  • Educate the market and create messaging around the benefits of advertising on Sony Music Podcasts, being present and active with clients
  • Analyze campaign performance data and provide flighting recommendations to ensure client satisfaction and renewal of business
  • Proactively identify clients and industry relationships to optimize revenue streams

Who you are:

  • Strong passion for podcasts!
  • Ideally currently selling digital audio&/or podcasts with a deep understanding of the buying landscape
  • Team player, looking for a company with a culture-first mentality and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Great communicator, negotiator and creative problem solver
  • A hunter mentality with a proven ability to generate new business
  • Strong existing relationships with audio&/or digital ad buyers at brands, DR/Performance and/or Holding Group Agencies across US.
  • Well versed in programmatic advertising landscape with in-depth knowledge of trends and emerging technologies, measurement and targeting capabilities
  • Proficiency with the entire sales cycle, i.e. prospecting; meeting and engaging; developing proposals and pitching
  • Excellent understanding of agency dynamics, how they operate and how/what campaign buying and planning entails
  • Experience working with a CRM like Boostr, Salesforce or Netsuite
