The Team
Arcana Audio is developing a new daily morning show elevating women’s voices and perspectives, in partnership with a major Hollywood production company. Every weekday, the team will work together to produce a variety of segments, from interviews with celebrity guests to pop culture talk to segments on wellness, books, fashion, and more. The production team and hosts are based in Los Angeles and record the show in-studio in Burbank. The producers, hosts, and engineer will work together closely to create segments that are engaging and playful.
The Job
We’re hiring an experienced, self-motivated Senior Producer to help us develop and produce a new daily morning show. The Senior Producer will play an important role in shaping the show’s tone and devising its workflow. During piloting and after the show’s launch, they will work collaboratively with the show team to produce strong segments on tight deadlines.
They will support the Executive Producers in all facets of production and team management. This involves show planning and scheduling guests, pitching ideas, booking, editing scripts, and working closely with the EPs to oversee day-to-day production of the show. The Senior Producer will direct tapings, ensuring segments come together smoothly in support of the show and team. The ideal candidate has daily production experience and an interest in and aptitude for growth as a team leader. In addition, the Senior Producer is someone who is comfortable working on a fast-paced show, and has a knack for working with host talent.
What You’ll Do

Help manage day-to-day production of the show, as well as supervise the segment producers’ daily tasks

Build trusting relationships with hosts and direct hosts during live-to-tape recordings, providing constructive feedback and notes in real time to hosts and show team

Research and pitch segments, book guests, and coordinate recordings

Draft and edit scripts and/or promos

Help Producer to prepare hosts for daily recordings and produce pre-taped interviews

Provide notes on segments and help guide the production team in executing on feedback

Cut and edit audio in Pro Tools, as needed

Maintain a streamlined programming schedule in order to manage scope of work and delivery expectations

Assist Executive Producers with staffing decisions

Occasional late/early morning hours may be required
What You Have

A minimum of seven years of experience producing audio for radio or podcasts; daily show experience strongly preferred

Experience working in development

Confidence working closely with talent

Demonstrated ability to pitch and execute segments for a daily show

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage one’s own time, and multitask

An interest and aptitude for growth as a team leader

Excellent written and communication skills

Demonstrated passion for news and pop culture, whether in video, audio, and/or written content

Proficiency in creating assemblies in ProTools

An eye for detail, a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, enthusiasm for the morning show format, and self-direction
