How you’ll make an impact:
This strategic role will spearhead the evolution and direction of the Research & Innovation team within the Advertising Technology space, aiming to seamlessly align originative solutions with market needs. Your leadership will foster a culture of innovation, driving the development and integration of advanced solutions into our advertising offerings. Your insights set the direction for our ad product explorations, ensuring they are not only groundbreaking but also practical and in line with market demands and our corporate strategy.
Reporting to the SVP of Advertising Product, Technology & Operations, your vision will transform the way we identify new opportunities and leverage emerging technologies in shaping our advertising products.
With a sharp focus on both advertising technology and the audio space, this role will redefine and champion the integration of innovative solutions into our broader advertising strategy. While guiding a global team of experts, you’ll harness innovative technologies to bridge the gap between ideation and market-ready solutions.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic Leadership: Drive the strategy for the Research & Innovation arm, ensuring our innovations are grounded in real-world market needs and opportunities
- Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate closely with executive leaders, ensuring our R&I initiatives align with the broader corporate strategy and growth objectives
- Team Empowerment: Lead and inspire a global team of product and engineering professionals, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
- Strategic Foresight: Champion a culture of forward-thinking, ensuring our R&I efforts not only address current market challenges but anticipate future trends and needs
- Innovative Excellence: Oversee the creation and refinement of cutting-edge ad products grounded in deep research, market understanding, and innovative thinking
What you’ll need:
- Minimum Bachelor level degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. Masters level degree in engineering preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience, at least 8 of which should be in a leadership/supervisory role.
- Proven experience in driving R&I initiatives in a dynamic and complex business environment
- Experience in consumer technology and media industries, with a focus on digital media and a keen understanding of the evolving audio and ad tech landscape
- Experience in leading global, cross-functional teams with a focus on innovation and market alignment
- Experience in a leadership role at a publicly-traded, international software company
- History of synthesizing qualitative and quantitative user research and usability study outputs to ship successful products and design
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate research findings into actionable business strategies and product innovations
- Ability to balance thoughtful consideration of potential solutions with the ability to solve problems from proof-of-concept to a path of scalable implementation and bring people along through the decision-making process
- Excellent communication skills, capable of aligning diverse teams and stakeholders around a shared vision and strategy

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $201,700 to $296,050 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
