Adelicious, the UK’s leading independent British podcast hosting and monetisation network enjoyed a year of strong growth in 2023, with a dramatic 314% increase in network listens, meaning a total sevenfold increase over the past two years.
2023 has been a stand-out year for the invite-only company, which represents Apple’s most popular UK podcast of 2023, The Diary of a CEO and the 2023 I’m a Celebrity ‘King of the Jungle’ Sam Thompson’s show Staying Relevant, alongside his brilliant co-host Pete Wicks.
Adelicious has also delivered a successful revenue performance in 2023, more than doubling their brand count with a varied mix of high-profile brands including Amex, Airbnb, Bupa, Fever Tree, Virgin Atlantic, Peloton, Warner Bros, Slack, TNT and many more now utilising the Adelicious network. Adelicious was also instrumental in negotiating the deal for Uber’s sponsorship of The Diary of a CEO, alongside Uber’s media agency EssenceMediaCom.
This year Adelicious was the first UK podcast network to partner with Sounder, to provide independently verified evidence of brand safety and brand suitability to their media agency and advertiser partners.
Furthering its support for the podcasting community, Adelicious was also the headline sponsor for The Cheerful Earful Festival, UK’s inaugural comedy-podcast festival, and the Independent Podcast Awards. Additionally, Adelicious hosted a panel at The Podcast Show discussing ‘How to build a podcast that brands say yes to’ and Adelicious Co-Founder David McGuire appeared on the judging panel for the British Podcast Awards.
And just last week, the network announced a strategic alliance with the audio entertainment company Realm, who will assume the role of exclusive advertising representative for a slate of Adelicious shows in the US market including Noiser hits such as Real Dictators, Real Survival Stories, and Short History Of… alongside titles like Intelligence Squared and Super Great Kids’ Stories. The combined reach of these shows exceeds two million monthly downloads in the US alone.
The number of Adelicious employees also grew, welcoming new starters including new Agency Director Amanda Smith, ensuring the right team is in place to ensure strong growth continues into 2024 and beyond.
Andrew Goldsmith, Managing Director, Adelicious said: “This year has been a milestone one for Adelicious. The more successful we are as a business, then the more revenue we are creating for our podcasters. Which is why, in everything we do, we try to deliver the best possible results, not only for the shows but also the brands we work with, our industry partners and in supporting the wider podcasting community as a whole. The journey so far has been exhilarating, and we are geared up for an even more exciting 2024.”
