October 3, 2024 — Airwave podcast network will launch Airwave History Plus, a premium history subscription on Apple Podcasts starting October 3, 2024. Airwave History Plus offers ad-free content for 27 of Airwave’s most popular history podcasts, plus bonus episodes, early episodes, and archived episodes for many participating shows.

The Airwave History Plus subscriptions includes premium content from History That Doesn’t Suck, Queens Podcast, The History of WWII Podcast, The Box of Oddities, The Explorers Podcast, History of Everything, The Age of Napoleon, History Tea Time, The History of Egypt, American Revolution Podcast, The Ancient World, The History of the Second World War, The Pirate History Podcast, The History of China, Ancient History Fangirl, Historical Blindness, Wiser World, History Uncovered, Pax Britannica, My History Can Beat Up Your Politics, Who Did What Now, Plodding Through the Presidents, The American Miracle, Face-Off: The US vs. China, The History of the Great War, and Art of History.

Ben Mathis, Chief Content Officer at Airwave, said “We have built a deep bench of leading history podcasts at Airwave, and we are excited to offer an enhanced listening experience for history lovers. We spent a year surveying thousands of listeners about their premium subscription preferences, and learned that 85% of listeners who would pay for premium content are specifically interested in bundled content within a category as opposed to a subscription to a single show or a network-wide subscription. We see this model as the future of paid podcast subscriptions.”

Airwave plans to launch other premium subscription bundles for Kids & Family, Business & Finance, Science & Tech, Arts & Entertainment, Health & Wellness, and other podcast categories, first on Apple and then on Spotify.
