NEW YORK, NY — September 14, 2026 — Mission Media, a leader in media monetization and advertising, today announced the launch of the Mission Media Quality Score, a methodology within its proprietary Content Hub designed to give advertisers and agencies a clearer, more comprehensive way to curate podcast inventory.
The Mission Media Quality Score evaluates each show across a range of signals over time, including but not limited to:
- Total audience size
- Including downloads
- Total ad slots
- Total avails
- Total requested ad impressions
- Apple listener ratings
- Total listener reviews
- Publishing and content recency
Each show is also subject to Mission Media’s ongoing IVT verification process, confirming that it is legitimate and reaching real listeners. Together with the Quality Score methodology, these signals classify inventory as Premium, Long-Tail, or Unverified.
“For too long, terms like ‘premium’ and ‘long tail’ have been defined by perception, scale or who owns the inventory,” said David Krulewich, CEO of Mission Media. “What’s been missing is an objective measure of how audiences actually engage and how publishers protect those trusted relationships through finite ad allotments. The Mission Media Quality Score changes that by applying a consistent, mathematical equation to classify inventory as Premium, Long-tail, or Unverified. Premium shouldn’t be a designation reserved for large media conglomerates. Great content and highly engaged audiences exist across the podcast ecosystem, and our Quality Score gives buyers an objective lens to identify them. By bringing the signals that matter together into one actionable framework, we’re giving advertisers a clearer understanding of the inventory they’re evaluating and greater confidence in where they invest.”
The Mission Media Quality Score builds on Content Hub’s existing curation layer, which gives advertisers and agencies visibility into podcast inventory, audiences, pricing, contextual relevance and campaign performance across more than 500,000 podcast feeds, 400 audience segments and 600 content categories. For advertisers and agencies, this adds another dimension to Content Hub’s discovery and evaluation capabilities, helping buyers more quickly assess available inventory, compare opportunities and make informed campaign decisions.
“Buyers should feel confident that their advertising is reaching audiences through credible shows in the listening environments they expect,” said Alex Ham, Director of Ad Operations and Applied AI at Mission Media. “We verify the inventory and evaluate the signals that tell us whether a show is active, legitimate and demonstrating meaningful audience engagement. The Mission Media Quality Score brings that work together into a clear, consistent measure that gives buyers greater confidence in every impression they purchase through Mission Media.”
“With so many media options available to advertisers, we need greater confidence in where we’re putting our dollars,” said David Feman, SVP of Global Media and Transformation at B&H Photo. “A quality score that combines multiple signals and verifies the inventory gives us a clearer way to evaluate podcasting as a channel and make informed and confident decisions about including the format in my investment.”
